How Elder Living Guide works
Our guides are general educational information, not medical, legal, or financial advice. Talk with your own attorney, financial advisor, or care professional about your situation.
Short answer: Elder Living Guide publishes free, plain-English guides for families making senior care decisions. We are not a care provider, facility, agency, or medical practice. We may share your information with care providers or partners only with your consent.
What this site is
Elder Living Guide helps families make sense of senior care decisions: help at home, assisted living, memory care, respite, and the family conversations around them. You can read every guide without signing up. If you have a question about the site, you can write to us through our contact page or email us at snlepore@gmail.com.
Who reviews our guides
Carter Hockinson is the editor of Elder Living Guide. He reviews each guide against official sources such as Medicare, the NJ Division of Aging Services, and the Eldercare Locator, and updates pages when those sources change.

How our guides are made
- Written for a specific family question. Each guide takes on one job, such as comparing fee sheets or planning a move, and starts with a short answer.
- Drafted with help, reviewed by a person. We use AI writing tools to help research and draft our guides. Our editor reviews each guide before it is published.
- Official sources linked. When a guide mentions a public program, a rule, or an official lookup tool, we link the official source, such as Medicare.gov or a state agency, so you can check it yourself.
- No made-up numbers. Costs, availability, and program rules change, so our guides show you what to ask for in writing instead of quoting prices or statistics we cannot stand behind.
What happens to information you send us
- We may share your information with care providers or partners only with your consent.
- There is no obligation to choose a provider.
- Please do not include medical or financial account details when you write to us.
Our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use have the details.
